Stephanie Necessary
Owner and operator of Necessary Photography

I have been fascinated with capturing the perfect image for nearly ten years. My husband,
Mark Necessary, is originally from New Mexico. About ten years ago, our family took its
first trip out west to revisit the place he used to call home. If you've never been out west,
the wide open space and hand-painted sunsets can, literally, take your breath away. In
anticipation of the trip, I had purchased my first "real" camera (a 35mm Canon SLR); as
soon as I was immersed in the surreal western landscape, I started shooting. A week, and
nearly 1200 shots later, I was hooked!

I came back to South Carolina (albeit, a little reluctantly), and finished my degree at
Coastal Carolina University. While I began teaching at a local middle school, I continued to
take classes in photography, and tried my best to master the lens. I continue to teach (I
love it too much to give it up), and have been designing the yearbook at our school for six
years now. This is such a blessing because I now have the opportunity to share my
photographic knowledge with the young people on my staff.
Necessary Photography

About six years ago, I decided I wanted to expand my involvement in photography. Up until
that point, I'd continued to hone my craft:  taking classes, teaching myself, and (above all
else) constantly shooting. I am a firm believer that you should do what you love - so, when
I opened Necessary Photography, I kept my focus on the types of photography I love best:
 weddings and portraits.

After examining the existing photography businesses in the Grand Strand area, I found
there was a need for an affordable photographer, one that offered an alternative to
traditional packages. For this reason, Necessary Photography continues to offer digital
and traditional packages - for every budget. Since this is not my only line of income, I
have the ability to be flexible in my packages and pricing - and I limit my shoots to ones
that I am truly passionate and excited about.
Equipment

I use top of the line Canon cameras, lenses, and accessories. All of my studio strobe
lights are Beijing YinYan lights. For digital processing, I rely on Adobe Photoshop.
